TAXPAC Endorses First Candidates of the 2026 Midterm Cycle
WASHINGTON, DC—The political arm of Patriotic Millionaires, known as TAXPAC, recently announced its first slate of endorsements of the 2026 midterm cycle, with six outstanding candidates for the U.S. House and Senate receiving the organization’s support.
The group’s endorsed candidates include both incumbent and challenger economic champions running in competitive and open seats. TAXPAC prioritized endorsing candidates that demonstrated their commitment to making the tax code more fair, raising wages, and defending democracy as central components to their campaign platforms. The first round of endorsements for the 2026 cycle include:
Jordan Wood, (ME-SEN)
Jordan is running in the Democratic primary to challenge Senator Susan Collins for Maine's Senate seat. As the former Chief of Staff to Congresswoman Katie Porter and Vice President of End Citizens United, Jordan has the necessary experience fighting for economic justice, and we have no doubt that he’ll be a strong fighter for economic populism and TAXPAC’s priorities in the US Senate.
Lt. Governor Peggy Flanagan (MN-SEN)
Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan is running in the Democratic primary for Minnesota's open Senate seat, vacated by retiring Senator Tina Smith. She is currently serving as the Lieutenant Governor of Minnesota, and she’s running on a platform that is strongly aligned with TAXPAC’s mission. We are confident that her track record of getting things done in Minnesota will make her a tremendous advocate for workers and fairness in the US Senate.
Rep. Greg Casar (TX-35)
Representative Casar is an incumbent Democrat running for re-election in Texas's 35th district. Considered a rising star in the Democratic Party, Casar was elected chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus for this Congress, giving him a platform to advocate for a bold economic agenda. Rep. Casar is a longtime ally of Patriotic Millionaires and one of the organization’s loudest and strongest champions in Congress, and TAXPAC is proud to endorse his reelection campaign.
Rep. Delia Ramirez (IL-03)
Representative Ramirez is an incumbent Democrat running for re-election in Illinois's 3rd district. As a member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, she has also been a close ally of Patriotic Millionaires for several years now. Rep. Ramirez has made a name for herself as one of the strongest champions of TAXPAC’s issues in Congress currently, and we are proud to endorse her reelection campaign.
Donavan McKinney (MI-13)
Donavan McKinney is running in the primary to challenge incumbent Democrat Representative Shri Thanedar in Michigan's 13th district. Donavan’s working-class background, his experience representing the poorest district in the Michigan state senate, and his fierce commitment to taxing the rich and paying the people will make him an incredibly powerful advocate for the values TAXPAC hopes to bring to the next Congress.
Emily Berge (WI-03)
Emily Berge is running in the Democratic primary to challenge Republican Representative Derrick Van Orden in Wisconsin's 3rd district. She currently serves as the City Council President in Eau Claire, effectively making her the Mayor. Emily is running on a platform that is strongly aligned with TAXPAC’s mission and has demonstrated her commitment to taxing the rich, raising wages, and protecting democracy.
“We are facing multiple, concurrent crises in America today. The level of economic inequality is staggering. As a result, millions of economically frustrated voters turned to the authoritarianism they saw in Donald Trump. Now, President Trump has passed his destructive One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which promises to make our situation far worse by giving lavish tax cuts to the rich and corporations, all while cutting critical services that working Americans rely on,” said TAXPAC Executive Director Jodie Rubenstein. “Our first six endorsed candidates have what it takes to turn the tide in America and reverse the chaos that will come from this bill. They will work to create an equitable economy that doesn’t just cater to the ultra-wealthy. TAXPAC is proud to offer them our support and we are eager to see them champion our issues on Capitol Hill. We’re excited to see them elected into Congress in 2026.”
